RSTP state of the relevant port (see Table 6.1).

Table 6.1 – RSTP Port Table Web Page
Below is a list of the possible RSTP states:
Forwarding – e port is integrated in the active topology and forwards data.
Discarding – e port does not take part in data transmission.
Learning – e port does not take part in data transmission of the active topology;
however, MAC addresses are learned.
RSTP Port Configuration
is page displays the valid RSTP conguration settings for the selected port.
Note
Modifications of properties can result in complete reconfiguration of (Rapid) Span-
ning Tree.
If termination devices or subnets are connected without RSTP or STP via a port, it is rec-
ommended to set the Admin Edge Port to Edge Port. In this way, a link modication at this
port does not result in a topology modication.
Switch/Port ID
e validity of switches and ports is determined according to priority vectors:
Bridge Identifier – A switch ID consists of 8 bytes as an unsigned integer value. When
comparing two switch IDs, the one with the lowest numeric value is of higher priority.
e rst two bytes contain the priority. e last 6 bytes contain the MAC address and
thus ensure the uniqueness of the switch ID in the event of identical priority values.
